SANDRA CHARLES WIEHE is an award winning fiber artist, quilt designer, graphic artist and teacher who designs and creates custom fabric art. Sandra shows her unique talent through fiber manipulation, color, texture and pattern. Her work has been exhibited in major shows and included in collections throughout the United States and Japan.

Sandra conducts numerous fiber art teaching seminars and workshops and has served as the director of area quilt events including the South Eastern Indiana Quilt Fest. Sandra's history with art began at an early age.

I spent hours as a child experiencing design first hand though my mother and grandmother, watching them work with traditional quilt designs. They used innovative techniques to overcome the lack of raw materials available to them. This rich heritage influenced my love of design and gave me the ability to overcome obstacles.

Sandra's formal training as a graphic artist gives her further basis in which to explore her design principals while expressing her thoughts and ideas. Sandra begins each piece with a particular idea or vision, but it often evolves a life of its own. Allowing for this characteristic, she remains free to all the possibilities her intuitive thoughts might express. Because of this freedom, evident in her art, each person who views it can find their own personal meaning within each piece. Collectors of her work often agree, stating that this freedom is what draws them to purchase her work.
